The pure product has a special smell, is insoluble in water, and can be miscible with organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. 2-ETHYLHEXYL THIOGHYCOLATE has weak acidity and can react with alkaline substances such as sodium hydroxide to form corresponding metal salts.2-ETHYLHEXYL THIOGHYCOLATE can react with heavy metals to form water-insoluble heavy metal salts.2-ETHYLHEXYL THIOGHYCOLATE can be oxidized to corresponding sulfonic acid under the action of strong oxidizing agent.
